Super Savory Skillet Steak & Shrimp
Posted by Jill Bosich on
There's just something about the combination of steak and shrimp! The sweetness of the shrimp matched with the beefy flavor of a well marbled steak is unmatched! This pan sauce that comes together with both is simply delicious. Squeeze fresh lemon too on top for an extra layer of deliciousness. Trust me, you'll love it and this will become part of your regular recipe rotation or at least a great meal for a special occasion!
Ingredients
- 2 NY Steak strip steaks or steak of choice
- salt and pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 pound large shrimp peeled and deveined
- 1 garlic cloves minced
- salt and pepper
Garlic Butter:
- 1/4 cup softened salted butter
- 3 garlic cloves minced
- 1 t. thyme, chopped
- 1 t. rosemary, chopped
- 1 t. parsley, chopped
Instructions
Turn a medium sized skillet to medium high heat. Add the olive oil and butter. Add the steaks. Cook on each side for 3 minutes or until outside is browned. Reduce heat to medium high. Cook the steaks to desired doneness. Remove and set aside to rest.
Reduce the skillet heat to medium. Add the shrimp and garlic (1 clove) and cook for 2-3 minutes until opaque. Add the steaks back to the skillet. Make the garlic butter by combining the butter, garlic (3 cloves) and fresh chopped herbs. Slather on top of steaks to melt and make it’s own pan sauce. Serve immediately and with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing (if desired!).
If you want the perfect sides to accompany? Whip up a batch of your best mashed potatoes and a side of roasted asparagus or creamed corn. It's a meal fit for a king and queen!
