Slow as molasses!

08/19: It was such a good but trying day pushing these girls and their babies from the lower cow camp up to some better country where the grass was much greener.

Funny though, they were walking sooooo slowww. It’s just cows. One bovine boss probably “decides” they aren’t feeling the “moving vibe” and that energy seems to run through the whole herd, making the trailing project more than laborious.

Today was that day.

It was a cool day and that was on their side and ours, but sometimes cattle just hate walking up hill. Can’t blame them, I don’t care for it much either.

We finally got the dillydallyers up the draw and through the last gate to a beautiful green paradise. The riders? We were beat but feeling accomplished.

The beer still tasted good that night and dinner hit the spot. It always does after a long day in the saddle. I love this range.
