Old School Sweet & Sour Meatballs

Posted by Jill Bosich on

I know I know, you've been preparing these little morsels of deliciousness for years! Well, if that's the case then you are good and set. But, if you're like my family, it was a recipe we had frankly forgotten about and this last holiday season, we brought it back for a nostalgic taste that does not disappoint! So having said that, here we go, it's throw back time!

Read through the next paragraph but I also want to suggest some of the following swaps! Instead of grape jelly, you can used jellied cranberry sauce, just one can. Instead of using the meatballs, you can use little smokies sausages! But what you see pictured here is what I've written out! Enjoy!

OK, so you’ll need a jar of Heinz chili sauce, a jar of your favorite grape jelly, and a bag of frozen meatballs! Throw everything into the crock-pot on low for about 3 to 4 hours, and you will have the tastiest little meatballs in all the land. They are slightly barbecu-ey, slightly tangy and ultra tasty! Even though I’m a professional chef, I’m all about sharing quickie recipes that are easy, straightforward and something you can pull together with very little effort and get big results!⁣

So give these little lovelies a go this weekend if you need a quick little hot snack! They are great for grazing and delicious with your favorite beer or red wine!⁣
