BOC (Bacon, Onion, Cheese) Range Dip!

Posted by Jill Bosich on

The Super Bowl might be coming up but that's not the only reason (or excuse!) to dig into the possibility of making this amazing dip! Dips are such a crowd pleaser and this particular recipe has all the hallmarks of savory deliciousness one could expect to pile on top of a chip or cracker. Personally, I like going to the lightly salted chip or vegetable route as the overall taste of the dip combined with the dipping tool isn't too salty overall on the ultimate bite! Try this!

Now, and this is for your culinary consideration. This dip recipe isn't just another dip recipe. One of my absolute favorite ways to serve this is as a savory topper to baked russet potatoes and baked sweet potatoes! It's absolutely delicious and it's everything in one to make the most tasty side to accompany your favorite steak, roasted chicken or pork main entree. You absolutely have to try it!

My favorite brand of bacon that's incredibly recipe friendly? Falls Brand! Look them up! If you don't have access due to your location, Nueske's and Wrights too are also simply amazing! We want mega flavor here y'all!

Ok, so without further delay, here's the details on how to make it!

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces sour cream
  • 8 ounces mayonnaise
  • 1 packet (1 oz.) dry ranch dressing mix
  • 5 pieces bacon, cooked crisp, crumbled fine
  • 1 ½ c. sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 green onions, finely chopped (use both the green and white portions)
  • 1 t. black pepper or crushed red chili flakes
  • Parsley, chopped, additional cheese garnish (optional)
  • Chips, crackers, and/or veggies for dipping

Instructions

In a medium size bowl, combine the all the ingredients up to the pepper and mix thoroughly. Preparing this a day in advance will allow the flavors to develop better! Garnish with chopped parsley and additional cheese if desired.
